The team Vets Over-35s are based in southern Manchester and play in the Cheshire-based Veterans Division Top Division.

Their roster this season features 9 ex- Premier League players, with a combined 1,801 elite games.

This high-profile team also contains over 220 top division scores and 325 international caps.

They include Papiss Cisse, who scored 37 scores in over 100 appearances for Newcastle United after signing for them for £9m from German league club SC Freiburg in 2012.

Cisse made his first appearance for Wythenshawe in their last home-field match against reigning title holders Collegiate Old Boys and scored every one of the six scores in a six-two victory - featuring a half-hour opening period hat-trick.

Ireland started playing for the side during preseason this summer through close mate and present team teammate Blake Norton, and the former Irish player then invited additional former professionals, who all compete in a midweek nine-a-side match, to join in.
